Incorporating Web 2.0 tools into assignments will help to enhance any assignment into an engaging assignment that will meet the needs of all learners, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare students to become life-long learners. Web 2.0 tools have positively influenced students in the following areas: self-direction and regulation, sense of community and culture, peer relationships, relationships with teachers and family, homework habits, and even behavior in school. Don't delay, learn what all the hype is really about!

  • This course is specifically designed for Plainfield School District 202 Induction Program.  Web 2.0 is an internet based hosting area anyone can access. Teachers will have the opportunity to explore and learn about hundreds of websites all contained within one hosting area that are all student appropriate, and then create a unit that will use Web 2.0.

  • This ACT course is designed to help understand discipline as an instructional piece of both the classroom and school setting.  In this course, discipline is explored as a skill deficit; therefore, students need to be taught corrective discipline strategies in order to be successful in your classroom.  Most teachers leave the profession within the first five years due to a lack of management skills or a general inability to handle the students in their classrooms.  This course will teach every educator, new to the classroom and veteran teachers, theories, strategies, and useful hints for every type of student in today's classroom.  Instructional discipline is the newest and most proven successful way to get every student to learn in the classroom.  Behavior is learned and therefore can be taught.  Are you looking for some strategies to put to immediate use?  Well, this is the course for you!  Remember, in order for behavior to change, we must use positive approaches that strengthen relationships.
  • This course will introduce the theory and practice of personality type along with application uses in the classroom.  The course was designed to help anyone involved in the world of education to better understand the student at the classroom door.  With the current trends in societal change, educators must better relate to every student in order to help increase achievement and success within the building walls.  Incorporating type into the classroom can be easy and fun; students will be more engaged and enjoy learning.
  • This course was designed specifically for Plainfield School District's Induction Program.  Second Year Middle and High School Teachers are encouraged to take this course for professional development. (201R)
